Universal engine connector.
Register a compatible REST scientific engine on your own computer, private cluster, or trusted HTTPS service. Credentials stay in tab memory. The shared hosting backend never forwards custom-engine requests or runs uploaded solver code.
Manage engine profiles
Library profiles are metadata: URL, API routes, schemas, visualization rules. No token, password, currently running job or private data is included in a saved profile or local project.
Engine identity and API
Private connection credentials
Never saved in `.opl` or `.oplengine`, local storage, server databases or browser cookies. Re-enter when reopening. Use only an engine you trust.
OAuth2 device authorization (optional)
For providers supporting OAuth 2.0 Device Authorization Grant (RFC 8628). This public-client sign-in sends form requests directly to your engine's OAuth endpoints; those endpoints must allow browser CORS. No client secret, refresh token, or browser storage is used.
Device code: Not signed in · Authorization page (available after sign-in starts)
Configure compatible API routes
Paths are relative to your engine's origin. Use {job_id} in job routes. The target must support browser CORS, including Authorization or custom API headers. Not every third-party API follows the same protocol; adapt its paths and payload here or use a user-owned adapter.
Optional user-owned solver source upload
For a compatible custom engine, add {{code}} to the JSON submission template and paste source below or select a local source file. Your code is sent ONLY when you explicitly submit to your chosen endpoint. It is never sent to the OpenPhysicsLab shared host, stored in projects, or executed by the platform. Use an isolated, user-owned agent. Imported profiles never run code automatically.
Parameters and units
Define number, integer, string or boolean inputs with optional minimum/maximum bounds. Click "Validate and save profile" to apply a changed schema.
Ready-to-submit parameters
Visualization and validation
Specify result-array locations (dot paths), plot labels, units and simple accepted-value limits. These limits do not certify physics accuracy.
Execute, inspect, cancel and download
Live scientific streaming · User-owned engine
Read bounded NDJSON frames directly from a compatible HTTPS or loopback API (including the private gRPC stream gateway). Each frame may provide finite X/Y scalars or arrays, using the profile mappings. No platform-server relay or saved credentials.
No active stream. A streaming engine must enable CORS for this application origin.
Configure an engine to begin.
No current result.
Supported result downloads: JSON, CSV, VTK and HDF5 (bounded to 48 MiB). JSON arrays and simple CSV/ASCII VTK coordinate data can be plotted here. HDF5 and complex/binary VTK need an external/local scientific reader. Third-party engine execution and scientific correctness are the engine owner's responsibility.

Add my own scientific method
Register methods, protocols, and specialist engine requirements that are not already in the library. A method record is metadata; it does not install or execute an external solver.
Import and export your own library
Custom models and material records are also included in local .opl saves. Never place secrets in model names, descriptions, source notes or formulas. Model records are not claims of certification. External advanced solvers use your owned compute agent.

Engineering verification.
Inspect three-level mesh convergence, estimate discretization uncertainty, compare with user-supplied reference measurements, and preserve reproducible evidence. User acceptance criteria are NOT independent qualification or a regulatory certificate.

Inputs have changed. Re-run this analysis before using the displayed results.
Run a verification to evaluate the selected grids.
No numerical evidence yet.
Three successively refined calculations must have nearly constant spacing ratio. An oscillating sequence, zero differences, or non-convergent order is flagged rather than silently assigned an uncertainty. A self-consistent SHA-256 hash cannot prove who produced a measurement.
Simulation pipeline.
3D geometry preflight → validated external-solver input → optional execution on your OWN workstation → scientific result comparison and evidence export. Industrial solver depth depends on the engine you install and independently validate.
Connect your private solver agent
Run python -m tools.owned_solver_agent20 with your own secret token on a machine where scientific solvers are installed. Supported, bounded jobs: Gmsh box mesh, FEniCSx Poisson benchmark, OpenFOAM laminar cavity, and Quantum ESPRESSO silicon (requires your vetted pseudopotential). No arbitrary command execution.
Not connected · Optional agent is not provided by the shared host.
No user-owned job submitted.

What this pipeline does not certify
Solver installation, modeling assumptions, third-party license compatibility, numerical mesh convergence, material provenance, uncertainty quality, real multi-node scaling, production enterprise security and external qualification remain the user's responsibility. For larger external results, use ParaView or your installed scientific visualization stack on the same machine.

Synchronize a model and its parameters with colleagues using a temporary room. No project data is retained by the relay.
Live collaboration
Start a shared session or join a room by its ID. Changes relay live between connected clients; peers run calculations on their chosen hardware.
Protected self-hosts require an expiring signed invitation. Viewers may observe; editors can send model and notes. Token is never saved to .opl. This is not organization SSO.
If set, model and note messages are AES-GCM encrypted before the relay. Share the same passphrase securely with collaborators. Room IDs, connection metadata and presence remain visible to the relay. Empty means plaintext.
